Is TrueLuck Casino Reliable? Our Analysis and Comparison
“Reliable” is a flexible term in the world of online casinos. An affiliate calls a casino reliable because it pays out; a regulator calls it reliable because it complies with the law; a player calls it reliable until their withdrawal is cancelled. In this analysis, we use a measurable definition: what guarantees does a player have at TrueLuck, who enforces them, and how does this compare with what a licensed operator in the Netherlands is required to provide?
First: TrueLuck Casino does not have a licence from the Netherlands Gambling Authority (Ksa) or any other recognised gambling licence. It is not permitted to offer online gambling in the Netherlands. This page is informational, contains affiliate links and is not a recommendation to gamble.
TrueLuck scorecard: seven criteria, one conclusion
We do not assign a rating that we cannot substantiate. Instead, we assess seven criteria and provide a source for each item.
| Criterion | Finding | Source |
| Licence | None — the operator is a Costa Rican company without a gambling licence | Casino.Guru, 07/2026 |
| Terms and conditions | “Mostly fair”, with three clauses that may allow winnings to be withheld | Casino.Guru |
| Complaint ratio | “Very poor” relative to its size: 52 complaints, 14 unresolved | Casino.Guru |
| Game selection | 72 providers, all categories, games found to be genuine | Casino.Guru, Gamecheck |
| Payments | 25 deposit methods, limits of €10k/€20k/€50k, no iDEAL | Casino.Guru |
| Support | 24/7 chat and email, English only; chat available only after registration; rated “average” | Casino.Guru (2 tests) |
| Responsible gambling | No Cruks; multiple complaints about ignored self-exclusion requests | Casino.Guru |
Conclusion in one sentence: TrueLuck is a functioning casino with a genuine game selection and working payment methods, but without any external oversight — and its complaint history shows that the weakest point is precisely where oversight would make a difference: withdrawals and self-exclusion.
Regulation: what “no Ksa licence” means in practice
Since 1 October 2021, online gambling in the Netherlands has been regulated under the Remote Gambling Act. The Dutch government summarises the framework as follows: operators need a licence from the Netherlands Gambling Authority, the Ksa checks that licence holders comply with the rules and takes action against illegal operators. Anyone without a licence is, by definition, operating illegally — regardless of how professional the website looks.
| Aspect | Licensed operator | TrueLuck |
| Listed in the Kansspelwijzer register | Yes | No |
| Cruks check at every login | Required | No |
| Mandatory deposit limits (since October 2024) | Yes, including additional protection for ages 18–24 | No |
| Duty of care, enforced by the Ksa | Yes | No |
| Advertising rules (Advertising Guidelines) | Yes | Not applicable |
| Gambling tax paid by the operator | Yes | No — [tax implications for the player: legal verification required] |
| Complaint body | Ksa, dispute resolution committee | None; Casino.Guru is only an informal channel |
| Segregation of player funds | Required | Unknown |
The Ksa actively enforces the rules. Published decisions from 2025 show that the regulator takes action not only against operators, but also against websites advertising unlicensed gambling — including penalty payments imposed on casinoscout.nl and onlinecasinobonus.nl. For players, this means that information about TrueLuck found online increasingly comes from foreign or anonymous sources, which makes it harder to verify.
Cruks deserves separate attention. The register now has more than 100,000 registrations. A player who has self-excluded is refused by licensed operators — but not by TrueLuck. A Dutch player wrote on Casino.Guru that the operator actively targets Dutch customers without respecting Cruks, and that their requests under the GDPR went unanswered. For someone in recovery, a casino without Cruks is not an “alternative”; it is a gap in the safety net.
Costa Rica, licences and Casino.Guru’s findings
The term “Costa Rica licence” appears in almost every affiliate review. It is misleading: Costa Rica has no gambling authority and does not issue online gambling licences. A company can register there as a commercial enterprise — nothing more. Casino.Guru is therefore explicit: TrueLuck “operates without a license”; the owner is listed as “Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada” (a legal form, not a name); estimated annual revenue exceeds one million dollars; and the operator is affiliated with three other casinos that have a total of fifteen complaints. The three clauses marked unreasonable concern “bonus hunting” (twice) and “low-risk play” — both can be invoked to withhold winnings.
The real value of the welcome bonus
Bonus amounts are the least reliable information about TrueLuck: Casino.Guru lists three deposit bonuses, French-language reviews describe a package of up to €4,000 plus 175 spins with 40x wagering within 7 days, and Dutch affiliates quote varying amounts. Check the current terms on the operator’s website — [to be checked on DD-MM-2026].
| Bonus (Casino.Guru) | Headline | Factors that determine its real value |
| First deposit | 100% up to €500 + 100 spins | Wagering requirement, time limit, maximum bet, winnings cap |
| Second deposit | 80% up to €15,000 + 75 spins | Same |
| Third deposit | 70% up to €2,000 | Same |
| Cashback | Up to 15% (according to reviews) | Calculation basis and payout format |
Example calculation. Deposit €100, bonus €100, wagering requirement of 40x on the bonus: €4,000 in bets. At an average RTP of 96%, you statistically lose 4% of every bet, or approximately €160 over the entire wagering process — compared with a €100 bonus. The bonus therefore has a negative expected value before the winnings cap and maximum bet per spin are taken into account. If the requirement applies to the deposit plus bonus, the disadvantage doubles. This is not unique to TrueLuck — it is how most casino bonuses work — but with an operator that has “bonus hunting” clauses, there is also a risk that winnings will be withheld afterwards.
Game selection and provider quality
There are three different figures for the number of games (6,400, 7,000, 10,000+); none can be verified. What is established is that Casino.Guru lists 72 providers and fourteen available game categories — slots, jackpots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, video poker, keno, scratch cards, craps, crash games, bingo, virtual sports and a full live casino — and Gamecheck found no fake games in a sample. This matters: manipulated copies of popular slots do appear at unlicensed casinos, and TrueLuck does not appear to engage in this practice.
Providers grouped by game type
| Type of offering | Studios at TrueLuck | Why it matters |
| Extremely high-volatility slots | Nolimit City, Hacksaw Gaming, Relax Gaming | Big swings and long dry spells — the highest risk to your bankroll |
| Slots with a range of RTP options | Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Yggdrasil | Providers supply multiple RTP versions; check the percentage in the game |
| Classic and low-volatility slots | NetEnt, Playson, Amatic, Habanero | Suitable for longer sessions with a smaller budget |
| Live casino | Evolution, Ezugi, Playtech Live, BETER Live | Table limits and side bets determine the pace |
| Crash and instant games | Spribe, Aviatrix, Turbo Games, Smartsoft | Rounds last seconds — the fastest movement of money, so limits are especially important |
| Crypto-oriented studios | BGaming, Endorphina, Evoplay | Titles designed for crypto casinos; often have high betting limits |
| Jackpots and network prizes | Playtech, Red Tiger | Progressive prizes; payouts above €250,000 per day are subject to the winnings cap |
In total, Casino.Guru lists 72 providers. The grouping above is our own classification based on the type of game each studio supplies; it says nothing about the reliability of the operator itself.
RTP and volatility: where to find this information
Return to player (RTP) is the theoretical proportion of stakes a game returns over millions of rounds; volatility describes how often and how large payouts are. Both are shown in each game’s information screen, not in the lobby. Some reviews say TrueLuck can sort the lobby by RTP; we have not independently confirmed this. Note that providers supply some slots in several RTP versions, and the operator chooses which version to offer. So check the percentage in the game itself, not on the provider’s website.
Payments: what matters when assessing reliability
The full list of 25 deposit methods, withdrawal limits (€10,000 per day, €20,000 per week, €50,000 per month; net winnings capped at €250,000 per day) and verification requirements are covered on the TrueLuck Payments page (/betalen/). Here, we focus on what matters to the reliability question: iDEAL is not available; player reports describe processing times ranging from three hours to five business days, with multiple cases of cancelled withdrawals; verification is generally requested for the first withdrawal — sometimes more than once — and without a regulator there is no body that can reverse a cancelled withdrawal. We have not conducted our own withdrawal test and therefore do not provide an average processing time.
Complaints and experiences: what the data shows
| Source | Number | Distribution / tone |
| Casino.Guru — complaints | 52 | 17 resolved, 20 rejected, 14 unresolved, 1 open |
| Casino.Guru — related casinos | 15 | Included in the safety index |
| Casino.Guru — user reviews | 21 | “Mixed” |
| Trustpilot (NL/BE) | 892 | 49% one-star, 41% five-star |
| Trustpilot (FR) | — | Rating hidden due to a breach of the terms of use |
| Reviews.io | 264 | Average 4.72; many short, partly unverified reviews |
Three themes dominate negative reports: withheld or cancelled withdrawals (amounts of up to €20,000 and €45,000 in separate complaints), ignored self-exclusion and account-closure requests, and support responding with standard replies. Positive reviews praise the speed of the chat, the game selection and, in some cases, smooth crypto withdrawals.
One notable feature of the Trustpilot distribution is the almost complete absence of middle ratings. A profile like this — many five-star and many one-star reviews, with few in between — fits an operator where things usually go well until something goes wrong, and then go seriously wrong. A single review is anecdotal; the same pattern recurring across four independent sources is not.
